Dating is absurd

It is. Yes, it is.

This thing, called dating, is one of the craziest experiments in human history and has had some of the most detrimental consequences! The Poison laboratory of the Soviet secret service or Unit 731 can't compare to the horrors of the dating experiment. We need to establish the simple premise that dating is insane!

Dating is:
  • a distraction from housework. Just when a young woman is in a prime position to broaden her bed-making skills, study bed-making, investing time and energy into cooking and nutrition (e.g. how to make a soup out of two chicken breasts for 11 people), hone interests in home economics (e.g. how to stretch milk with water, like they used to in Romanian orphanages) and grow spiritually (God forbid emotionally or intellectually), a dating relationship can become all-consuming, robbing her of her best years, time and energy.
  • leading to impurity.  Jesus talks about “presenting a spotless bride” for a reason. Hymen was, and should be for us, an expected gift that our children give to their spouses.
  • completely pointless. It is. If you really think about it, the idea of dating is absurd. We should be ashamed for going along with this notion born from a self-indulgent, sex-crazed society, made popular when the bikini became accessible.

If we tolerate dating and tell other believers that they’re OK, we’re keeping the truth from them, and they will therefore be heading straight to Hell. My prayer is that the Holy Spirit will open the eyes of fellow believers to the truth that dating is absurd.
